I've gotten to the point where the pain/trouble IS the experience. I refuse
to pay some drone in San Diego or TX to refurbish Duckie's
speedo/odo/tripo. That would be like a threesome and I've heard they
destroy relationships! Forget driving and camping. Who's going to remem
that for decades??MY children will remember the look on me face when I ask
them to pull out the matches for starting the stove, (this gets their rapt
attention, uh oh, what's daddy up to now!?) I grab one and some epoxy and
attach the match ever so carefully to the speedo indicator remnants and
adjust it so it is out of the view of the trip meter (which is now likely
permanently OOC) yet clears the radius of the viewer housing. NICE. It
even seems appropriate at this juncture. Nevermind it's stuck at 60 and me
odometer STILL doesn't function. I can put me TomTom in that cubby! Now
when they say, "Who far daddy?" I just smile and say, "It's a journey
children! Push harder or we'll never make the next hill!
Who's ready for a junk yard run? I hear tell the 530 BMWs have metal gears
that fit our heaps!
