neil: You sure can develop some interesting problems. It seems very unlikely that heat could cause a relay to stay on when there is no current thru its coil. If you completely understand the circuitry, you should be able to troubleshoot this with a meter. If there is power to the ignition coil when the key is off, trace it back to its source. If the relay is staying on, there must be a reason why power is applied to its coil. Larry A.
