would hurt to soak the bottoms of the cylinder with BP Blaster ponetrating oil. there are bumps on the sides of the barrles just for prying on to get them moving - be sure not to damage the top edge of the block. having the case partially apart will make it harder to wrestle that barrel out of there.

also heat - heating the barrel might help, then let it cool. scott turbovans

I wouldn't get all excited about looking for AMC heads- the only one I ever bought, new............burnt me, I consider them very iffy. I stil have this head...........it has about 8,000 miles on it. it's slightly irregular in dimension about how it seals on the water gasket at the block. resurfacing the bottom ond in the combustion chambers where the metal rings sit to bring it to spec would fix it very nicely.
