2 things -
you can buy individual very high quality metric bolts in many sizes from
Fastenal.
A bit pricey, but I've ordered one or two bolts from them many times.

what I've noticed is that when it's an "N" part number - it's generic
part , not a manufactured by VW speicific car part.
Like if you get say, vaccum hose, it has an N part number.
