THATS funny. no...........it is very self-UNbleeding -if there is a tiny leak, for example.

But, you can change a part and let a bit of coolant out, and it won't make any difference unless you are in extreme conditions - like going up a long grade in 100 degree temps., and even then, the tiny amount you lost . no big deal at all. There might be a tiny bit of air at the space at the top of your radiator - no big deal, unless conditions are very challenging.

I DO have a plan for a full time automatic bleeding system for a vanagon. and the engine part - that IS self-bleeding, but the radiator -being high at the front, with pipes mounted low between the radiator and engine - no way is that self-bleeding. there is a LOT of misinformation in the vw amature tech world. scott turbovans
