Subject: VDO 80 psi oil pressure sender with 5 bar gauge
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Does anyone have experience using a 80 PSI VDO oil pressure sender with a 5 bar VDO oil pressure gauge? The Egauge site says that is the one to use but 80 PSI is actually 5.52 Bar so I'm wondering if that would affect the gauge reading. I changed my oil pump to a Schadek pump and I changed my sender because I broke my 5 bar sender. Now my readings appear low but I'm not sure if they are actually low or if it is the sender that is not a perfect match for the gauge. The Schadek pump is not as tight of a fit in the case as the OE pump is so I'm wondering if that might be the cause of the low oil pressure when the engine is up to operating temperature (90 Celsius). BTW I'm still running 10W30 because I'm still breaking the motor in. We are heading for our vacation next week and I'm a little concerned, but maybe it's just the sender. BTW the oil light does not go on or flicker at idle. Thanks

Pascal
