Like everyone else on the planet, our family has thought long and hard recently about what to do regarding our cars. What we decided is to keep driving what we have, which includes two vanagons, but to drive them as little as possible. I put $40 bucks worth of diesel in my westy 3 weeks ago and still have half of that. It's hot here, but I'm riding my bike nearly every day and do most of the shopping with the pannier bags. I love it, and I feel better for it. And I'm saving more money than I would by buying any high-MPG car. Jim
