Speaking of alternative table ideas, I recently mounted a 12 x 18 cutting board with the bracket/flange all the way to one end, which now is set-up permanently in the front table mount. It fits very nicely in between the seats, and also swings nicely out-of-the-way to get through the aisle if needed. Much more practical than the stock table, and no need to stowaway the tabletop. The Maple I purchased looks rather attractive as well, and with rounded corners, nothing to run in to or damage anything. Have to admit though, that guys idea of using the door as the tabletop is rather ingenious. Reminds me a lot of Alton Brown's (food networks's "Good Eats") philosophy of everything should be a multitasker, unitaskers are taboo. Still, how long would it be before the door gets all scratched up? I picked up by cutting board for $18 at a local Fred Meyer, and nicks and scrapes add character to cutting boards;) My cabinet doors are smiling right now;) Cheers, Troy |
