Besides the hooks it's attached to the rear support bar in the middle. Where did you find out what the hooks were rated at?

In the FWIW department I just replaced my bumper ('84) with (a better) one from the wrecking yard and the hooks are welded to the boxes that fit inside the frame and are then bolted. I guess the weak link would be the VW bolts that attach the bumper assy to the frame.

Anyone out there ever had a failure with the GoWesty hitch?
