James, go to your FLAPS and get a 16" battery ground cable with the smallest diameter terminal ends, probably 3/8". Much better than that wimpy braided cable that VW provided. Then install it from the LH head where there are two 6mm bolts, one holding the water pipe and one for ground cables. The other end goes to any convenient location on the firewall near the fuel pump relay and ignition coil. Make sure the area on the fore wall is cleaned of rust so that a good electrical connection is made. Use liberal amounts of Dielectric grease on both connections.
