I vaguely remembered your post from over a year ago but I mis-filed it in another unrelated Google Label (Folder) and had not been able to find it (forgot the name and date) until your post showing the date which made it a snap to find. I have since re-filed it appropriately for me to find a bit easier. West Marine is just a few blocks away here in Ventura, CA and I'm sure they have the appropriate and similar "hull plug" you described in your post.
