Haven't seen anything from Curt -- was pmail maybe?

I'm a little confused what improvement you're trying to effect -- this is one of those deals that either works perfectly or it's no good at all. I can see making changes that -- if carefully thought out -- don't impair its function; but (strictly in terms of function) I don't see how it can be better than it already is. It burns reliably, with correct mixture, and doesn't go out with a hurricane blowing past it. What's left to want?

As to using a second set of fittings -- they went to a lot of trouble to make a coaxial setup so that no matter what the wind did there wouldn't be any pressure differential across the inlet and outlet. And it works amazingly well. If you're having problems with the flame blowing out then there's a leak somewhere in the system.

Cheers,
