Loren,

I've got an email friend on the Eurovan list with a dead Norcold in his EVC. It looks like the DC0040 would be a good idea for him. How long can you run it on battery? And what is the size and type? (I.e., amps and marine or true deep cycle?

Thanks,

Stuart

RE: Dometic R182 into no-camper I've been watching this thread and have to jump in to second several of the remarks, especially the politely stated "Why would you want to do that?" responses. The 182 three way is a good unit and I've had good experience with them when working right. But I've switched to a 12v DC fridge (Norcold DC0040) and never looked back. But if I had a non camper I was converting I'd look at the stand alone 12v DC refrigerators like the Isotherm or Engel. All you need is an aux battery setup.
