Subject: '80 air cooled fs in Asheville
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

For folks around the Asheville, NC area that are looking for a westy I spotted a blue one at a riverside junkyard that is for sale. The van is pretty straight and complete looking though there are a few small dents on the back and some patches of rust here and there. It appeared to be in original blue paint and the seam below the inlets looked pretty clean through the fence from 15 yards away. A tow truck driver told me that it needed a fuel pump to run and that he though the guy selling the cars wanted 1000 or 1500 for it. My guess is that it could be had for much less though it will need at least some work to get it going it could be a good deal.

the person to call is Jim Wilson - 828-507-4470

Also, in case anyone is interested in this sort of thing, in Asheville I recently spotted another cooled westy vanagon that has obviously been sitting for a long time and I would bet that it could be had for a few hundred and a tow.

I took a few pictures of the blue 80 westy with my phone so they are poor but I can pmail them to anyone that is interested.

Jonathan
