Subject: Re: '85 Westy w/ 211,000 miles for $7500

Two years ago I paid $1,200.00 for my one owner '84 Westy, found on Craigslist. There was no question as to whether or not the engine had to replaced as it was locked up solid. It does not have a/c but it does have the gas heater ( being a former Bay owner, I'd gladly trade that heater for a/c-stock Vanagon heat is GREAT when you've owned a Bay) . On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being best, I'd put it at an 8 when I bought it. At Everybus 2007 a woman stopped to look at it, told me it looked just like hers only mine was in much better condition. Then she asked what I paid for it, and when I told her she said "Oh, you paid way too much!" People like that kill me, I took it as she was just p*ssed that I found it and not her-but if that was the case, just shut up and move on. Jeff
