Richard,

I don't know if you've cut your cabinets yet, but I just got an Isotherm (very similar to the Vitrifrigo) and discovered that if I move the drain under the sink, I can put the fridge under the sink with about 1/8" to spare under the drawer. Not sure if a Vitrifrigo will do the same but its worth a look. You'll free up your old fridge space to make a huge cabinet and you won't have to fab a drawer. Moving the drain will be a lot easier than fabricating a drawer. My Isotherm has some metal flashing around it that I will have to cut down about 3/8" to make it fit but that's easy as well.
