The main problem is being Diesel. The Diesel still creates far more NOx, Particulates and other nastiness than gasoline. It is almost like comparing heating a house with fuel oil as compared to natural gas. The H2 will burn more fuel per mile than the TDI but except for CO2 emissions, the H2 exhaust will be much cleaner even with all the advance controls on the TDI.
