Thanks Michael, Since the fridge is "out" I have just been pushing the igniter directly (easier to get at whilst messing around at the back). I did bend the "wire" to within1mm or so to even get the weak spark! I think it has to be the igniter button assembly itself from what Kim said, so I'll order one and see if that helps - it would probably work okay as is, but its a PITA to get in and out so I'd rather make sure its right before putting it back "in"!!!
