I have Hella 550's that I wired into the bright/high beam wire right at the OE lights. I use relays so all this draw bypasses the vulnerable headlight switch. I think a better way to do this is a larger, direct wires from the battery, relayed with a separate switch on the dash. I grounded each Hella with a separate wire to the firewall/tin up front within a foot or so of the light, but then I did that with the OE headlights as well.So far so good.
