The Electric Vanagon posted in the earlier post could be made into a series
hybrid, which means you have a tuned gas or diesel generator to charge the
batteries when they run below a certain level. You could also have
regenerative braking if it's an AC motor.

So you could make it a hybrid without the syncro version.
