dear all westie sorts

saturday morning we sprung out of bed and headed for the ferry to Texada Island Vananda days were the order of the day and we had been invited over to shoot the proceedings commenced with in the rush to inflict some minor damage to our precious van ... while letting the glow plugs have a few seconds i pressed in the clutch ... forgetting the emergency brake was not engaged ... normally that would not matter but of course we had moved the van the night before to allow some access to another building crunch ... the drivers door was hung up on the grill of my wifes vehicle ... grr .. so we sprung the door a little and will deal with that later in the week ... no real damage other than the door now requires a good slam ... sigh ...

over to vananda for a very successful day of video and watching people enjoy their selfs then onto the Texada Yaught club where we sat with our host his wife and one of Texada Islands more interesting sorts (which is saying lots) after several hours of regaling we untied the 29' 11" paceship and motored across malaspina strait and back,... delightful seeing as i was offered the helm ... ;o) sun set over harwood island ... too wonderful

Spent the night in the Westfalia ... in the parking lot of the Texada Yacht Club ... read door screen in place and top up ... after a day of too much sun and too much fun it was a delightful sleep

this morning we drove down to the texada airport where we participated in the Fly in breakfast i was taken for a very short fly in a Murphy Moose ... http://www.airplanemart.com/Arlington-Northwest-EAA-Fly-In/2007-Fly-In/aircraft-images/Murphy-SR3500-Moose-Amphibian-Airplane-C-FWGT.jpg got some great video of the air field and west side of texada ... ( i do need a UV filter though to help out in the shooting ... Then the afternoon included a flying circus by the Fraser Blues http://fraserblues.com/

Back into the trusty westfalia ... and down to the ferry terminal to home

wow ... it has been an exciting weekend

if only our westie had wings ... or maybe a rotor ... i have always called the type 2 through 5 the helicopter on wheels ...

the trip short ... the fun enormous

by the way for all of those who fear the price of fuel is stopping their fun

the Murphy Moose burns around 20+ gallons an hour ... cruises at about 15 gph ...

yes... i appreciated the tour the pilot gave

thank you westie gods for a journey well taken and well enjoyed ...

Thanks for reading yours
