Subject: NVC- Eriba Puck Hub/Spindle source?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; delsp=yes; format=flowed

Hi all- just had the curbside wheel bearings disintegrate on my 1968 Eriba Puck while down on the NC Outer Banks. I heard a squeek yesterday morning and in the time it took to drive the 25 miles from our campground to Manteo, it ate them. I was able to get the hub off, but the inner race of the outer bearing is welded to the spindle. It is sitting at a shop waiting for them to get to it and try to cut it off without hurting said spindle (I didn't trust myself with a chisel and hammer). The same bearing may have fubar'ed the hub- has some cuts in it- hoping it is still usable. I know this mess is my fault- I had had trouble getting a hub nut off of one of our two trailers and gave up repacking last time- thought it was the homebuilt : ( Anyway, I'm checking the usual Eriba Forums and German Ebay just in case I need a new hub/spindle and thought I'd drop a line here in case someone knows of a source- you never know. Thanks folks- ollie
