The 299 looks like it is a 290 designed for horizontal mounting. (e.g.
vent points down.)<br>

Rectangular regulator no longer made, because it fails and leaks as

above. Replacement (same mfr.) is Marshall 290 which is available in

two or three different orientations (vent direction) and is a bit

longer than the original -- the outlet tube(s) will bend to accomodate.
