someone commented that fiberglass insulation retains water, badly.
And I woudl agree.........that in a situation where a vanagon can't get well
dried out during the winter.........
that having fiberglass in say, the sliding door, is not a good idea.
when I find time on my own 85 Wofsburg Weekender, I'm going to heat-inulate
the sliding door with that white hard faom stuff........forget what it's
called right now.
I feel sorry for vanagons that have to live outside full time in the
winter in fairly harsh climates.......which means everywhere besides the
dry west pretty much. It's either wet, or salty, or both in a lot of
places.
there are quite a few good trreatments to stop rust, and to prevent it.
Especially the stuff that turns rust to primered metal.
I find myself applying a lot of it............all the time. Especially in
crevices, like the bottom insides of doors.
Any paint bubbles i see, I pick down to the bare metal underneath. Got to,
it'll only get worse left alone.
For a hole right thourgh the metal - I fill those with professional grade
body repair materials.
As long as it's not exensive body cancer..........not to hard to repair
very nicely.
