I'd say 'yes' and I'd also say there is No Substitue for Dissasembly and Inspection. Followed by proper treatment.

perhaps you might like the idea of maknig a very tiny , ultra-mini slit in the CV boot, and use that spot to spray motorcycle chain lube into to lube the CV joint generously.
