This is an 85 or 86 Westfalia Weekender. This version was not made in 1987. It also was not made in 1980- and this sellers claim is false. This has not been "upgraded" to an 87. This a factory model with AC.

It's purely a 85 or 86. If it wasn't for the wide-angle you would notice it's nose-high as all Westfalia Weekenders are higher than regular Westfalias of these years. He may not know this is a laundered vehicle but the VIN on the dash screams early air-cooled.

It could also be the dash was damaged so it was replaced and no one bothered to replace the dash VIN.

We'll have to wait and see what the seller tells you about the chassis VIN.
