If I was replacing it, I'd be torn between Terry Kay's SS tubing and galvanised EMT. I could make the EMT myself for very little dough and the zinc would be a usefu rust-deterrent whereas TK's pipes would be shiny. :) If I lived in the salty East, it would be TK all the way.
AND, what's wrong with this hose that comes from NAPA >>> Hose, coolant, 1-1/4"Green Stripe II, replacement & repair of 1.9 main metal coolant pipes, 28445 - $8.95/ft. It's what I use and I have seen no problems to date. Easy to install, will never rust, cheaper than the stainless pipe and probably will outlive the Vanagon.
