Rob,

My alternator bracket broke into 2 pieces a while back - - thought it'd be an easy repair (welded the two pieces back together), then found out that with the bracket in one piece there was no way to get a wrench in there (at least no wrench in my toolbox) unless you removed the cooling pipe. After twisting one of the bolts for the water pipe off and having to buy a 90 degree drill to drill it out with, I think the whole thing took about a week!

Moral of story: Start spraying cooling pipe bolts with PB Blaster, or maybe try that new stuff that was mentioned last week from CRC, available at Wally World (not sure of the name).

Good luck! And what is it about Weed - - my '85 Mitsubishi Turbo-Diesel cracked a head there once.
