The 1600 Bug exhaust gaskets are approx. the same bolt pattern and outside size and shape, but the inside diameter of the hole is larger for the Vanagon gasket. In a pinch, I've opened them up by bending them over on an exhaust port with taps from a ball peen hammer's round end. Just face the bent over part pointing downstream so it doesn't 'snag' exhaust flowing past it.
