I just reinforce the inside of the broken nipple (whether it's on the tank itself, or one of the valves or vent tees) with a snug fitting piece of metal tubing. Then I use a 'cut and knead' epoxy putty to make neat exterior reinforcement. Reassemble as normal when hardened. Works good, lasts a long time, stronger that stock. Should hold up to vacuum, pressure or exposure to fuel, oil, etc.
