guys, thanks for the responses. I realize now that my email didn't make something clear... I actually already got and installed the bulbs that I linked to, and, after using them for a few days, am very impressed with their brightness. I'm sure joel's idea would produce brighter results, but for someone wanting a really bright bulb to drop into the stock hole (without any chance of melting anything, since they only draw 1 watt!), I'd recommend the cree leds I linked to. The only drawback I see is the expense.
