Randall and the rest of the listees,

As you brought up the revered, late Mr. Whipple, may I point out Mr. Whipple was the spokesperson for Charmin toilet paper, not paper towels. As its Fryedaye, and Mr. Whipple and toilet paper have been brought up, I think its time to get into another serious, topic - Toilet paper and portapotties....

As we've had surveys about oil pressure, acceleration from 30 to 50, and for those of us that have been on this list from the early 90's "Unka Joels List Member Database List", here's a new one I'll name the "Mr.Whipple Nature Calls Survey List"

Please answer the following (the answers will be collated, ANALized and by the NSA):

1. Do you have a portapotti in your Vanagon/Westy? (If like a bear, you crap in the woods, ignore the remaining questions) 2. What brand do you have? 3. Where is it placed in your Vanagon/Westy? 4. Is it secured while you drive? 5. If so, then how? (ie bungee cords, kid sitting on it while you drive) 6. If not secured, why not? 7. Where do you store your toilet paper when driving or when the potti is not in use? 8. How do you keep the roll of TP from unraveling while driving? 9. Do you empty your portapotti: a. at the end of the weekend b. every week c. only when its full and rolling the windows down no longer "clears the air" d. you mean they have to be emptied??

Thank you in advance. In a few days we'll try to flush out the results.

Ric

I'm of course referring to the PROPER and RELIABLE vanagon.com endorsed toilet paper for out-of-town application. I should THINK paper towels would be a poor choice, especially if you want to get that girl out for a second adventure -- which underscores the point of both the necessity and URGENCY to keep the most best 1st class TP handy and at-the-ready for passengers, (hard to say WHO might venture in with us) and to, if for no other reason, > commit to follow the motto familar to at least some of us, from the National Boy Scouts of America -- to BE PREPARED. > So, if we're really going to talk about THIS -- let's at least start with the essentials. Paper towels can be lived without. TP MUST be top quality (and able to be produced, in quantity, in an instant) or the whole trip is just shot to hell. A desirable roll IS in said ROLL and not in a heap or strewn about the cabin. I keep a rubber band around mine. > My vote is for Mr. Whipple's superior product. > Randal > '85 AW (svx parts on the way!) > '87 Westy I-4 (for sale pending) > '87.5 Wolfsburg > > > > ----- Original Message ---- > From: Peter T.
