yeah, I use silicone spary on lots of things too. on an 84, it's a couple of plastic cooling system parts that break........ and it's the metal parts that corrode if not well serviced and assembled with generous amounts of anti-seize compound, or ...... for things like the bolts for a metal thermostat cover - I put teflon paste on the threads - then they don't corrode, and come apart years later just fine. but the main hoses.........got lots of those !
