The "Magic" numbers for towing an automatic with the rear wheels down and axles connected are, maximum distance of 30 miles AND at a maximum speed of 30 mph. I've towed automatics before, with the wheels down, and disconnecting the axles isn't all that hard. Especially if you have Craftsman impact grade "Bolt Outs" (or equivalent) available for any difficult or stripped out Allens. The impact grade Bolt Outs can be driven with a ratchet or breaker bar on an extension and will reach into that "Cave" nicely. Mike |
