Subject: LVC: Trip Report - Bowman Lake, Glacier National Park
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hi all,

Thought I'd give a quick report on our trip to the Flathead Valley and then Glacier Park. Great trip, van ran great, beautiful scenery, very few tourists (which was a bit odd).

If anyone is thinking about a trip to Glacier, I'd highly recommend hitting Bowman Lake for your campsite - amazing place. The 20 mile drive on severely washboard'ed roads was a butt-clenching experience, but nothing a new suspension couldn't fix... If you have reliability issues, I do not take responsibility for this camping recommendation ;)

In all seriousness, I drove about 10-15 mph for most of it and the van took it very well. That terrible road did pay off big-time...the campground was only about 1/2 full, even late into the evening. That's pretty unheard of for a good national park camping spot in our experience. Bring a boat if you have one - that is one seriously amazing lake. I posted a few pics on facebook if anyone is interested. You'll have to weed through a few family pics, but there are some nice scenery shots too. http://www.facebook.com/photos.php?id=1197142735

-Ben
