Well.......that's all fine EXCEPT ! -------- There's no SEARS in MEXICO. So.......when the aux battery goes belly up after months on the free beach powering the beer fridge we don't want to drive up to Yuma or some other stateside city where the SEARS store is to get the FREE replacement. COSTCO and WALL MART are the only viable options or COSTCO was ! WALLY still has a group 41 or other similar batteries for replacement options.

What we really want to know here is if COSTCO, Canada, USA & Mexico are gonna completely get out of suppling a battery that will fit in a Vanagon, under the seat position. The policy may differ from country to country so if anyone is near a COSTCO go check out this little story and make a report. I do know some of the COSTCO stores in the US had group 48 batteries that fit and the COSTCO stores here in OTTAWA that I have been in never did have that group 48.

>>>>>> Well, I say drive down the street to your local Sears, and you'll find your group 41 battery or my personal preference the 40R, with a higher AH rating. Five-year pro rated warranty. Three year no questions asked, two years prorated thereafter. About $90. Leave Costco to the folks who like to buy their mayonnaise by the 5 gallon jug.
