FAG cs SKF I know nothing of FAG but I do know that SKF has been around for a hundred years or so and (at least used to) make their own product. My father, a machinist all his life, if given a choice, would reach for a SKF bearings above any other brand, Timken being a close second. I had heard at one time the SKF, a Swedish company, had moved at least part of their operation out of Sweden to Germany because of the econonomics in Sweden.
