The biggest advantage would be if you changed the front brakes and lower control arms as a unit. The 86+ front brakes are much better. More stopping power and a more reliable caliper design. I have done this to several early vans and the results are always pleasing.As for the 88 springs I can't say. Some of them at least are lower than Westy springs. Might need to measure them both once removed. If you get the brake/control arm assembly get the rubber brake hoses too and don't damage them.
