Subject: Anyone Need Body Parts/parts From A 91 Burgundy AUTO?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed

I'm finished stripping the shell Vanagon I got from Tom LaPoint in Wausau last weekend and the shell was towed to my friend's welding shop in Ames(IA). The Burgundy 91 Vanagon GL is in amazing condition rust-wise, but it does make me wonder how a Colorado van can have SO much rust on the running gear(front brake backing plates and power steering linesare almost non-existent) but the body be pretty much rust free?

I will be cutting up several sections of the driver's side for transplant on Bud Premack's former 86 Syncro, but if anyone needs the roof, rear clip, battery box, seat tracks sliding door track, etc., let me know. I don't have clue how to ship large items like the roof, so pick up in Ames might be a better plan. I don't think my wife likes the idea of me using the roof for a firewood shelter up against the workshop!!! I may sell the doors and rear hatch too although the rear hatch has some lower lip rust that will need to be glassed in. The front windshield lip is in excellent condition, but I may use it too. there are some other parts I'd let go of too, but hanging on to a bunch of it as spares for the 90 GL and the Syncro. Will take the suspension parts once the torching is done. The van only had like 120k on it, but the springs are spoken for. Tom kept the motor, trans, and most of the glass

P mail if you have questions, before it starts going on ebay. Not looking to make a fortune off this, but would like to get the parts in the hands of those in need, just like so many of you have done for me.
