Thanks Scott.

Good to have confirmation on how the VW low pressure switch works.

I had the Jetta high pressure switch wired to the Vanagon oil light.

I guess the high pressure switch never supplied ground as the light stayed off while driving.

Kinda blows my theory about the brake warning light receiving a ground when it shouldn't. Regardless it's being rewired.
