I've stopped using the SKF branded outer wheel bearings. They're made in Mexico and are crap.

Never a problem with FAG though...

Cheers,

Jeff

They are both top quality bearings. Even though SKF sources their bearings from all kinds of different countries, the quality is top notch. I have installed them, many, many times and never had one issue. The FAG bearings are German and they are also excellent quality and I have never had an issue with them either. The only bearings I have ever had an issue with came from China and were some brand I had never heard of before (Happy Love Good Good Bearings or something like that). That is Chinese code for "these are junk".

As a side note I have found it amusing to see strange Chinese names for products, which usually are something upbeat or positive even though the product itself is not that great. When we were in Mongolia a few years back we would drink coffee every morning. All they had was instant but they had these packs of instant coffee called "American Taste" and they had an American flag with an eagle on it. Of course it is a product that is not available over here and I had never seen or heard of before. The instant coffee also had creamer and sugar mixed in with it and it was quite good. Almost makes me want to visit Mongolia again for some more "American Taste" coffee which I am sure was made in China.
