Subject: NVC- Need Trailer Wiring Help!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; delsp=yes; format=flowed

Hi- trying to get a small trailer back on the road. Old wiring was shredded and lights corroded, so went out and picked up a cheap set of utility trailer lights. Have the lights mounted and wires run, but the colors on the instructions don't match what is provided. I used to know these.. help!

Left side (drivers) of trailer has a lamp with a yellow, a white, and a black tail coming out of it. The harness wires on that side are green and brown. The instructions say connect the yellow harness wire to the "red" wire of the light, the brown to the "2 black wires"

The right side (passengers) has a yellow, white, and a brown tail and a yellow and a brown harness wire. Instructions say connect green wire to "red" wire, brown wire to the "2 black wires"

Can somebody help me get this straight? My first attempt earned me one working turn signal and a taillight (passengers)- that was by connecting the white and black to the brown, and the yellow to the yellow. The other side (which did nothing) was green to yellow, and white and black to brown.
