Patti - Yes, the fuel tank vent test has been added for 2008. I read a notice about it while I was getting my van smogged last month. As far as I know, the test involves putting a positive pressure on the fuel tank filler and doing some type of leakdown test. I didn't see any requirements about the type or material of the vent lines themselves, just a pressure test. Lucky for me they didn't do this test on my van, and I'm not sure why.
