I'm ready to drop the drive gear into the block of my 2.1. I've consulted Bentley on 13.38 figure 2, and I'm not clear on the intention. Line up the crack in the case with the 0 degree TDC mark and #1 piston up--got that. Install drive shaft so that offset slot faces bolt (arrow)--huh? Do they mean that the slot in the end of the shaft be dropped in place with the slot parallel to the case split? Small segment faces water pump. Huh? Does this mean that the smaller side of the offset goes on the left side of the engine, the larger to the right side of the engine? Inserted position/installed postion--got that. Just wanting to make sure. Thanks, Jim |
