Here is another trick that I learned long ago, for ease of trailer handling. If you will consistantly be doing some awkward manuvering with your trailer, put a hitch on the FRONT bumper. It does not need to be as fancy, because you really are not going very far with this rig, but it beats the heck out of trying to back up any distance! No difficulty in seeing the trailer, no "reverse" steering required. Makes parking your trailer in confined spots a joy. I used to put a 14' boat trailer up a 75' single-lane driveway first time, every time. It would not have been so easy backing up, in the conventional connection manner! Chris S <szpejankowski@GMAIL.COM> wrote: I attach a tall bicycle flag to the rear center of the trailer so I can locate it easily when backing. This works well and allows you to practice. The few times I got into trouble and just didn't feel like manouvering I simply lifted the loaded trailer enough to drag it around in the desired direction. 07-08-08, Scott Daniel - Turbovans napisał(a): > > there is a seldom seen 'no sweat back up trailer' arrangement. > > The trailer has a single, center-mounted, castoring wheel. > The 'hitch' connects to the back of the tow vehicle at two braodly spaced > points....... > which only provide up-down pivoting. > this ar up just backs up .........like a regular car even. > > > |
