It's highly likely that one of the cable guides has broken off of the mechanism. They can be reattached with great effort, replacing the broken rivet with a nut and bolt setup. Or you'll need to get a good used assy from a junkyard (HTF!), or buy a new one from one of our list vendors. All of a sudden my power window on the passenger side won't stay up. I took off the door panel and saw that the window mechanism is not connected to the wire cable that goes up and down.
