As always you have provided great photo's and text of your back country travels. One of these days we hope to pack our Westy and take a 4-6 month tour of the States, I intend to spend some of the time wandering through areas like those you have shown us.

Thanks also for the link to the Summitville Mine information. It is of particular interest to many here in Alaska as an attempt is being made to build a very large open pit mine at the headwaters of the rivers that feed the Bristol Bay fisheries in SW Alaska.

Should you make it to Alaska, if you have not already, I highly recommend spending time in the Kennecott-McCarthy and Nabesna regions of the Wrangell St Elias National Park. Both were developed by mining interests in the early 1900's and offer spectacular country to explore.
