true. it started in about March of 1990 ...

serial number 071053 was built in Hannover but 071087 was built in Graz, Austria. both are NON-syncos.

during and after March 1990, it appears from the VINs i've collected that batches of bodies were shipped to Austria to be final assembled, whether syncros or not. i don't know for sure if any chassis/bodies were actually produced in Graz or not, but i do know that the T3/Vanagons were assembled there.

the first week of November 1990 is the last Hannover serial numbers i have ... after that, all the T3/Vanagons, syncros and non-syncros, were built in Graz, Austria at the plant that previously produced only the syncros. serial number 007468 is the last non-syncro built in Hannover that i have. 007797 and all afterward were built in Graz. and that appears to include even the pickup trucks (at least the ones that were shipped to canada).
