Subject: HELP! Fuel line problem
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed; delsp=yes

Vanagon friends I am on the road in my van in Wales and I have hit a problem. There is a pipe on the drivers side of the vehicle running from the fuel tank. It ends up in the engine compartment. I refuelled at the last fuel stop and filled the tank - within a mile fuel is pouring out of this pipe all over the hot engine - scary! I did the following as a temporary mend as it is clearly not the fuel feed pipe as that runs the other side of the vehicle - I capped off the pipe and have jammed it as best as I can so that it wont fly around under the van. Questions What is this pipe - I suspect it might be an air link for the fuel tank and if so I guess I can't seal it off If it isnt, what would be the best thing to do? I am miles from a garage, full camping gear and family on board - but have email access for a few hours. Advice appreciated Paul Pertol aircooled vanagon 82 westy
