Paul,

Don't run with the pipe capped! This pipe returns unused fuel from the pressure regulator back to the fuel tank. You probably need to replace the rubber hose from the regulator to the plastic pipe behind the firewall. I'm assuming you have a FI system rather than a carb, about which I know nada. In any case, you may be able to cut off a bit of the hose where it's leaking and reclamp it just to get you to a parts store where you will want some 7mm fuel line. This is a low pressure return.
